  • Scooby Doo’s name was conceived on an airplane by Fred Silverman. He was listening to a Frank Sinatra recording of Strangers in the Night and the phrase “scooby dooby doo” stuck with him. That’s when Silverman decided to switch the lead of the “cat show” he was working on to a dog and that dog would be called Scooby Doo.

  • Bonzo the Dog is a fictional cartoon character first created in 1922 by British comic strip artist George Studdy. Bonzo the Dog is counted as the oldest cartoon dog.

  • Lassie was not just a star of film and television; the world's favourite collie starred in comic book adventures by Dell from 1950 to 1962; then Western picked up the series until 1969.
